This unit provided me with an interesting overview of the currently accepted methodologies and systems of learning and teaching, including pros and cons for each method, as well as a wealth of ideas for potential lesson material at the end of the chapter. The detail of the ESA structure will be extremely valuable in situations where I will need to develop and design my own lesson plans.
This unit helped me oscillate nearer to my preferred teaching style, which seems to be some kind of happy medium between Grammar-Translation and Audio-Lingualism, the reason being simply that it was under this sort of teaching style that I not unhappily acquired a second language.
