Unit 17: The use of Equipment and Teaching Aids was presented in this unit. A teacher may find it practical and to their advantage to use teaching aids. Presenting material with more than just their voice and chalk board to help students learn the English language can help engage students in the daily lesson. By using video cameras to record the students responses and playing it back for them can show how and if they are pronouncing the words correctly. An OHP is another great choice as a learning aid. This piece of equipment allows students to visually see the lesson. The teacher can have class participation in real time using an OHP with a gap fill lesson. Also, a DVD can be another teaching aid by letting students hear the words spoken by somebody other than their teacher. Teacher aids can focus and capture the students attention can greatly increase the speed and comprehension of the English language.
