This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I found this unit to be a solid refresher on the intricacies of part of speech within the English language. While concepts like the adverb remain fresh in my mind, I found it useful to reexamine the types of adverbs and rules on placement of adverbs within a sentence. I believe this information is important because while, as a native English speaker, I find that the use of adverbs in my everyday speech is unconscious at this point - I am able to incorporate them correctly without giving much thought to syntax or placement whatsoever. This applies to all the parts of speech we covered in this unit. My students, however, will have to think very consciously about how and when and why each part of speech is being used in a sentence, and I will be much more equipped to facilitate their learning if I understand the intricacies of the parts of speech they are learning.
