Probably the most complicated and content dense unit of the program thus far. And likely the most interesting. Some of these concepts I've studied or encountered before. One aspect I've always struggled with is the phonemic alphabet. As an American, I understand English is not a phonetic language and the phonemic alphabet is quite useful. However, when growing up, our instructors tended to just use other example words, which is likely a simpler and more effective system for native speakers. Anyway, I digress. The unit had valuable information on teaching pronunciation concepts like fricatives and voiced syllables.
