This unit discussed the theories. methods and techniques used when teaching a language and the pros and cons involved. I learned about the different ways languages have been taught throughout history and why ITTT has chosen the ESA model as the best option. The Engage, Study, Activate model allows students to think on their own, receive corrections and constructive feedback on their language skills, as well as practice speaking the language and integrate the new information into the knowledge they already know. A teacher can use different forms of ESA (straight arrow, boomerang or patch) to mix it up and keep the lessons interesting and fresh.
