This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit discussed the importance of teaching students how to pronounce words and shape them in their mouth. It also brought up the idea of allowing students to do things like linked speech which has become very common in the world today. This unit made me realize that teaching English in South Korea might not be as difficult because their language and alphabet is already based on the shape the mouth makes. Phonetically speaking Korean is very similar to English. Before this unit I had never really though of phonetic script so I'm glad that it was brought up. I have to be able to read and speak it properly if I expect my students to.
