i found this unit quite useful in gaining new ideas for speaking activities. One thing that wasn't stressed is how difficult writing is for ELL's. It is typically the most difficult area or the area they struggle with. I forgot how useful creative writing can be in helping improve that skill. I teach ELL at a school as a support program, not as a separate language program. I often have to help student with academic writing and we often don't get time to practice creative writing. However, I will be teaching very low students and i feel creative writing could be quite useful for these students.
