This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit looked at the importance of evaluating students to check their progress and understanding, as well as to give them feedback. There are various ways in which students can be evaluated. This includes tutorials, which is time used to review work and check student understanding within smaller groups, or even for individual students. Another evaluation is by letting students evaluate the course, thereby letting the teacher know their strong and weak points. As well as what interests them and what does not. More formally are tests, which can take many forms, and are useful in determining; students level (especially at the beginning), students progress, students` interests, among other things. I think that homework is also an important evaluation, since it not only encourages students to engage with the language outside of the classroom, it gives the teacher a more regular method of evaluating student understanding and progress.
