In my current position, I use a number of created materials from sites like lantern fish or boggles world as well as from other assistant language teachers. However, I have no control over the coursebooks used, although since I teach English to Japanese students in Japan, I am lucky that the coursebooks are geared towards issues that could arise coming from a Japanese language background. I enjoy making my own created materials, however I do not often use authentic materials in class. I think in the future I should make a move towards including these kinds of materials in my classes to challenge my students.
