In this unit we can have a closer look at one part of the tense system in the English language. Although many linguists consider that the language has only two tenses, the present and the past, it has been easier for teachers to divide the time into three tenses: the present, the past and the future, and they can be further divided into four aspects: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. This unit covers the four aspects of the present tense. They are:Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous. Each of these aspects is analyzed by its form, usage, errors, and ideas for better teaching. It is recommended that teachers pay attention while teaching about the usage, because it is quite common that the usage of some tenses overlaps depending on the way that they are used in. The whole unit gives us a clear overview of the most important things that the teachers should consider when the introduce the present tense.
