In teaching written and spoken productive skills, I am curious to see how this phase may exist on its own. Are there opportunities where it makes sense to link productive skills with comprehension work, or it is more productive to focus on just one of the two? Perhaps the distinction becomes most apparent in the activation phase, where vocabulary items and objectives can be honed, in exhaustive listening or speaking exercises that do not necessarily introduce new material. note: All Rights Reserved, Copyright 2017 Andrew ScottJust like the previous unit this was short and straightforward. I learnt on the importance of writing and speaking skills to learners of English. I also learnt on different ways to teach written and spoken English including the ESA. I learnt that spoken and written English are equally important and should not be ignored . This was a very good unit as it gave examples and further gave me games that I can use. This unit also touched on the importance of games when carrying out classes especially during the engage and activate phases.
