Contemporary teachers and students are fortunate in that a wealth of technology and materials are now available in the classroom. Most classrooms will have at least a whiteboard or blackboard, but depending on the school, some may also have \"smart boards,\" overhead projectors, DVD/CD/cassette tape players, video cameras, computers, and more. These tools can be extremely useful for teachers to improve their lessons, but should aware that some of the technology may be unfamiliar or difficult to use or set up, and should ensure that they have tested them out before using them with students. Furthermore, a variety of print and online resources, including YouTube, (online) dictionaries, English language practice websites, course books, and more may be useful additions to the classroom. Native materials such as TV shows, films, radio broadcasts, and podcasts may also be used to present authentic language usage to students in a format that will typically appeal to their interests and encourage discussion and participation.
