Unit 4 provides the overview of present tenses, namely present simple, present perfect, present continuous, and present perfect continuous. It describes the structure of affirmative, negative and interrogative questions in present tenses. The readers get reminded about their usage. My favourite part of the unit is the teaching ideas demonstrated both in the text and in the supporting video. The authors also showed us the most common mistakes that students make, and made us think how to be proactive in preventing them.This unit served as a helpful review for me on the present tenses. After reviewing the present tenses explained in this unit, I now have refreshed knowledge on the subjects to help me explain the structures and uses of each tense. It was especially helpful to have a clear understanding of the difference between the present perfect and present perfect continuous tenses. If my students ever ask me about the differences between those present tenses or any others, I now have the tools to clearly answer their questions.
