This unit focusses on the different types of student a teacher may encounter in their work and the requirement to adapt their approach to teaching as the situation demands. Teaching small children, for example, requires an approach which would not be appropriate in the case of adult learners or, indeed, business learners. The unit also covers management and discipline in the classroom with an extremely helpful list of dos and don'ts. Although it does not apply to me at this stage I found the material on multilingual classes and business learners very interesting.This unit discussed the grammar and common mistakes wiht conditionals and reported speech. There are five kinds of conditionals discussed in this section. They are zero coniditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional, and mixed conditionals. These can be challenging for students because it is hard to understand the difference between them. Reported speech is similarly difficult because it can be hard to understand the timeline when the direct speech is talking about future actions that have not yet come to pass at the time of the reporting.
