This unit covered the seven specific forms of the future tense. One thing that struck me in this unit was the fact that the present tense can sometimes be used as the future tense in specific circumstances. Of course, I use the present tense in this way regularly, but I never took the time to really consider this distinction. The proposed activities to practice the future tenses with students were also very useful and definitely gave me some ideas for future lesson planning.. It was good to know more details about our receptive skills and how we read and listen (using skimming, scanning, deduction, predictive skills and pay attention for detailed information) in different situations. Also I understand that teacher has to be careful with pre-teaching vocabulary and selection of materials that he/she provides to the students. Teacher need to increase students' interest and motivation with interesting topics and use realistically achievable tasks.
