This unit breaks the English tense into the past tense, the present tense and the future tense and focuses on the present tense. It talks about the present tense in its four different forms, i.e., the present simple, the present continuous, the present perfect and the present perfect continuous. With each of the tenses, the author follows the discussion of its form, usages, common mistakes and errors made by students and, ideas for teaching the activate stage which is one of the most important methodologies covered in the previous unit. The discussion of common mistakes and errors made by students gives me a chance to think about the language in the students' perspectives and reminds me to be aware of them in my teaching in the future. The ideas for teaching really inspired me. For example, the 'change the room' activity in teaching the present perfect. It uses the realia right at hand without extra preparation and arouses students' interests and curiosity.
