This unit covered the different techniques needed in order to teach a new language. I learned how to select the vocabulary to teach in class using criteria such as teachability, appropriacy and frequency. I learned the most effective way to give a grammar lesson through the use of ESA patchwork lesson format. Lastly I learned how to teach language functions such as refusing, agreeing, and suggesting by means of the ESA boomerang lesson structure.I learned a number of methods of teaching to students. Teacher may combine some activities or choose one or two actives to use for learners.
In class, ESA is a big part when teachers are teaching and we should make sure the aim of each stages. There are some materials that we can use for the learners but all depends on learners level.
Teacher should make sure what the learners best side and weakness so we can try to different methods to teach.
