This unit is focused on the grammar of a basic sentence and outlines the different parts of speech, explaining the classification of each word in a clause. Starting from nouns and their classification the unit expands on all parts of speech: adjectives, adverbs, verbs, articles, pronouns, conjunctions and propositions. Understanding the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs was particularly helpful, as well as the proper use of the infinitive form and the gerunds. In the adjectives section, besides clarifying the rule for constructing comparative and superlative adjectives, giving the basic rule for putting adjectives in the right order was also particularly helpful. This can be stated also for adverbs, since common mistakes involve their position within the sentence. Lastly, in the pronouns section, I found the clarification between possessive pronouns and possessive adjectives useful, as their use can cause confusion in the learner.
