This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learnt that all words in the English language can be classified as one of the eight different parts of speech. Understanding the different parts of speech is important in understanding how words can and should be joined together to make sentences that are both grammatically correct and readable. An understanding of the parts of speech is also important for knowing how to correctly punctuate sentences.I learnt there are eight parts of speech in English language:nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, and interjections. In this unit I was able to see what a good TEFL lesson looked like compared to a bad one. In the good one, students were engaged and seemed to be enjoying the class. In the bad one, students were confused and seemed to lack the understanding of the concepts. The difference between these two lessons was not the students but the instructor. In the better lesson, the instructor was clear in his instructions and used different methods to help the students better understand the concept. This unit was helpful to see how an instructor can influence the class.
