This unit dealt with the correct usages of phrasal and modal verbs and differences between the active and passive voice. It is very easy for students to be confused particularly when looking at modal verbs because of the subjectivity associated with their use. It is also important to recognize the difference between active and passive voice so as to distinguish the subject of the sentence from its object because the former is not always necessary in the passive voice whereas the former always is.The course has been giving me the components of teaching a class all along but this unit gave me the big picture on how to assemble the components. Before studying this chapter I really had no idea how to create a lesson plan (what direction to take with the components). Further, the quiz itself made me really spend time thinking about each of the phases and what tasks are associated with them in a tangible way. I know I will refer back to this unit again and again until I have the hang of it.
