In this unit, I've learned some tips and guidelines for teaching speaking and writing. First, for speaking, we do need to create a need or desire for any communicative activity. Also, we need to use different activities (controlled activities, guided activities, and creative communication) properly and reasonably to practice or test students' oral English (both accuracy and fluency). For writing, I got that there are different factors to be considered and incorporated in our lessons, such as handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation. And I learned that creative writing should be encouraged in our class, as it engages the students and the finished work usually provides them with a sense of pride. In addition, I also learned many practical games which can be incorporated in my classes to create a good classroom environment, create opportunities for students interactions as well as motivate and practice students' language using.
