Unit 13 provided me with great understanding of the phonetic alphabet and phonetic script. I have taken previous linguistics classes, however, this unit provided much more information in regards to the phonetic alphabet. It also gave wonderful examples of how to teach pronunciation to my students through the use of reading, listening, and games such as tongue twisters. I believe that knowing how to articulate words, is going to be helpful to my students when teaching pronunciation, and vice versa. This unit will be a great gateway into understanding the English language even more.A good clear lesson, easy to follow. I think it would be important to review or summarize the ESA lessons that are being used in the quiz. For example, the Straight Arrow lesson, could have been recapped at end of this lesson along with examples so that it prepares us for the quiz. The straight arrow was discussed in lesson 3 so a review/recap at this stage would have been helpful. I also think a bit more detail on the difference of \"authentic text\" and non-authentic text would have been helpful along with examples. Its easier when examples are provided after defining a term.
