unit 18 is all about modals (i.e. can, could, May, might, ect.) Phrasal verbs and passive voice. I have learned how modals are used in past, present and future tense, as well as what they are used for. for example, \"can is used to express ability or possibility, as well as for informal permission, informal polite request and sometimes assumed impossibility. Where \"may\" is used for polite request, formal permission and less than 50% certainty. Passive voice is used to when the object or an active verb becomes the subject of a passive verb (i.e. I slammed the door yesterday would be the door was slammed yesterday) this form is useful when the writer/speaker either when it is not known, not important, or we dont want to say exactly who performs an action. Even though I am a native English speaker, I learned some clear understanding on how to use these concepts even though I have been using them for years.
