This unit was about articulation and pronunciation. It also covered the idea of phonology and was super hard. I hate reading phonetic script because I never use it and find it utterly ridiculous to teach to beginning English students. I understand the teachers using this as a concept to incorporate into teaching the students. However, there are many ways to pronounce and articulate English and it is all right and wrong. There are multiple ways to pronounce something. I do not agree with a lot of the way words and sentences are pronounced in everyday life as I do not do that at all. I was told to use proper pronunciation and articulation. Also, there are regional dialects and brogues that influence how words and sentences are spoken. If feel that this is dependent on who the teacher is and can be caught by the students mimicking the teacher. Other than that, it was very interesting.
