This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit went over some of the commonly used resources available in classrooms for teaching English. As the technology available in classes has changed since my time in school the proliferation of IWBs or interactive white boards is new to be so it was especially helpful to have that information included. There was also an abundance of on-line resources listed in this chapter, from dictionaries to websites with English poetry at various levels there is a lot of information and materials to be explored. There are four basic skills in any language, receptive skills- reading and listening, and productive skills - speaking and writing. In this unit I've learned how to teach receptive skills. During the class we should approach equally both weaker and stronger students and choose the material according to their interests, not ours. If necessary we should pre-teach difficult language items and explain it to students. While choosing the material we should also pay attention to students pe-existent knowledge.
