Creating lesson plans gets easier and faster. Ideas come more naturally and quicker, I don't have to think about them as much as before and they are also varied, meaning I don't always use the same ideas.
This unit helped me a lot for future comprenehnsion exercises. It helped how to choose, how to prepare myself and how to prepare students (!) for the listening/reading exercise they are about to complete. So far I've done it in the reverse way, namely students read the text and then we discussed problematic words.
I always considered comprehension skills as something very important, that's why I gave my students once a text, a real article and they had to write a summary of it wih maximum 150 words (which was too much). Ever since I like these types of exercises and I do them quite frequently, but now I will better understand how to design them.
