The receptive skills are listening and reading, because learners do not need to produce language to do these, they receive and understand it .Teaching receptive skills are essential in the knowledge of any language. Unfamiliar words are generally the cause of misunderstanding of some texts, read by learners of English. I think that listening or reading when our minds are focus is very profitable; and also when the teachers first explain the meaning of the keywords on the board before the reading activity by learners. Its facilitates their easy understanding.This unit shows us how complex the English language is. I have learnt alot about the distinction of passive and active, degree of certainty in the modals, transitive and intransitive verbs and relative clauses. In relative clauses, the emphasis on the actor of the sentence and finality of the deed is important. In the use of the tenses, the state of the being in the sentence and the immediacy of the conveyance of worry is important. For example, \"A crocodile is eating Henry\". Modals also help us to convey the degree and certainty of our requests or actions.
