This unit was very useful in highlighting the different teaching theories. I found the ESA technique of structuring a lesson really useful as structuring a lesson plan was something I was worried about. I know I will need practice at structuring a lesson and remembering the rule for techniques for each stage. It was interesting to learn about the different shapes a lesson can take - straight arrow, boomerang or patchwork. Initially I did not understand how the Activate Stage could come before Study but after an example was provide I could see how this method would be useful for older students or a smaller group. I think this is a method I would use but I would need to have some prior experience with the subject matter so I could manage ay unforeseen study topics. The list of games and activities at the end will come in really useful.
