Overall, in this unit I learned about the different type of testing in a language school and the different types of external exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Ca,bridge exams. I learned that a placement/diagnostic test should be given in the start of a coourse to determine the students English level. A progress test should be given a periodically during the course to detemine the students progress and what they have acquire so far and an evaluation test at the end of each course for grading.Having only one-to-one teaching experiences thus far - I've often wondered how I would contend with the classroom environment; particularly with regards to \"first lessons\" and varying degrees of aptitude.
With that having been said, it's comforting to know that the ideal resolve would be to utilize the time getting to know the students, their reasons for learning English,and their strengths and weaknesses; all while also establishing a necessary rapport conducive to successful teaching.
