This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit showed me how to use the past tenses correctly as well as how to identify the different types of past tense sentences. It showed me a comprehensive list of irregular verbs. The unit was difficult to understand but with the use of many online examples I managed to gain a better understand of what I was learning. As a native English speaker I am finding it difficult to understand the use of teaching these types of sentences by name and sections rather than gaining a simple understanding of past, present and future tenses.Unit 18 focused on modal and phrasal verbs, as well as the passive voice, and relative clauses. Basic rules and conjugations were included, along with ideas for teaching modal verbs. This lesson was informative in explaining intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable verbs as I was not particularly familiar with the underlying grammar of their usage. Additionally I learned about how the comma differentiates between defining and non-defining relative clauses, which I was unaware of prior to reading this lesson.
