We have to keep in mind that the four skills in any language (the two receptive skills and the two productive) are equally important. The unit focuses in the receptive ones (listening and reading). It describes the reasons for listening or reading and the different ways we do it. The levels of listening or reading, so as to say. It describes the main troubles that can appear in listening and reading as well, and proposes a patchwork structure for teaching.I found this unit to be very insightful. The two videos were very interesting to watch and learn from. I found lots of flaws with the first one and thought how awful it must be for students to have a teacher that might be like that. He looked really bad putting down students for not answering his questions. It was clear that they were not learning anything from him and as a teacher he should have realized and put effort into fixing it or just quit his job.
