This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit had mixed reactions from me. There were some parts that were clear, easy to understand, and had plenty of examples; such as the auxiliary verbs and passive voice. Then there were the relative clauses and the phrasal verbs, which in my opinion was not incredibly clear. I wish that there were more example sentences like on page 4. Yes, I realize that was to show the different emphasis on the auxiliary verbs but I think it would have been beneficial. Overall though I did learn a lot from this unit.Unit 15 dealt with the evaluation and testing of students. this includes diagnosing their level of English using diagnostic testing, and then evaluating each students progress during the year or semester by giving them progress tests. Finally, you may need to get them ready for placement tests which will evaluate their understanding of the English language, usually used for placement in other facilities. This is particularly useful to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of different levels of students.
