This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned that modal auxiliary verbs are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't and ought to. Modals are used to express: obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability, and advice. This lesson helped reinforce the difference between passive and active voice. Active voice focuses on the agent of the action and passive voice focuses on the subject of the sentence. In unit 4 we learned about the 4 forms of the present tense; present simple, present perfect, present continuous, and present perfect continuous. We reviewed how to form affirmative, negative and question statements using each form of the present tense, as well as which ciurumstances the various forms of the present tense are used. Common student errors with present tense were discussed and strategies to reduce these errors were presented.
