When learning a new language, there are two main skills that we should consider:
a. receptive skills - listening and reading
b. productive skills - speaking and writing
This unit shows how a teacher can introduce a new language in a balanced way for students to feel motivated enough to participate in a classroom activity. It is very important for the teacher to engage his/her students with patience creating a comfortable and flexible learning environment which will increase the motivation level of the student to participate and not be shy.I found this lesson very interesting. I was previously of the opinion that lesson planning was not necessarily the best idea and was of the view that it would be too rigid. Also, when I was a student in the University, I found most teachers who stuck to their lesson plan \"boring\" All that changed when I studied this unit. I understood that it helped with being more organized and tidy. I understood its importance and what should be included in the lesson plan. Though the Unit was relatively shorter than the rest, I found it very helpful.
