There are many ways to organize and manage a class based on several factors including the nationalities of the students, their personalities, activities performed, and a myriad of other factors.
The greatest takeaway from this lesson, however, is that there is no single best way to conduct a class. For example, \"horseshoe\" arrangements allow the class to function as more of a cohesive whole, but it can lead to the teacher not being able to monitor and engage the whole class. On the other hand, individual desks allow the teacher the ability to monitor, and engage the students individually.
The best use of any of these methods would be to do certain arrangements in certain phases and activities. More circular arrangements would be better for class participation in either the engage or activate phase, whereas the individual arrangement is better suited for study time.
