This unit was more challenging, but I have actually successfully taught the second conditional with \"what would you do.. if...\" scenarios. It is overwhelming grammatically, but using it is fun. The zero conditional is used for general truths, issues/situations, and when things are certain to happen. The first conditional is used when there are likely results of possible future situations, promises, threats or warnings and back up plans. The second conditional is used for dreams, fantasies, and hypotheticals. The third conditional is used for regrets and excuses. The mixed conditional is used for unattainable scenarios.
