This unit covered the reasons why we test and evaluate. It covered the different tests that the students will encounter (placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice). The different types of major external tests were covered (Cambridge, TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS). It identified the different levels of external tests available and how the external tests determine those levels. The correlation between the external test levels and ESL Levels was also identified to help us know what levels we are prepared for and what levels or tests we would have to work to prepare for (the higher Cambridge tests specifically).
