This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit I learned of the different methods of teaching, but the most effective way of teaching is the engage, study, activate method. There can be several variations to the ESA method. For example, straight arrow ESA sequence, the boomerang ESA sequence, or the patchwork ESA sequence. The engage phase should mainly consist of warming the students up to use the language in which prompts are often used to elicit students to speak. Next is the study phase where a structure of the language is broken down and explained to the students. Then there is the activate phase where the students practice the use of what they just learned.
