Conditionals can be seen as imaginary sentences where ?if? is used to represent either future situations or events that might never occur. The two parts of a conditional sentence are: the ?if? clause and the result of that clause, ?would/will?. There are several types of conditionals that are different in usage. Realistic situations are represented by the first conditional while the rest include hypothetical situations. Meanwhile, the zero conditional are facts. Reported speech is when an individual gives information about what another person?s thought or speech. When changing direct speech into reported, the tense changes from present to past. It is also important to realize time change might occur. For example, ?tomorrow? refers to the future, an action that has yet to occur. For the sentence to make sense, it is important to change it to ?the next day? or ?the following day? and so on.
