This unit covered the problems and challenges that come with teaching total beginners and more advanced students, as well as how this differs between young learners and adult learners. The part of the unit that focused on young learners leaned heavily on the importance of encouraging students and repeating material as much as possible as well as maintaining their attention through the use of games and a variety of activities. The part of the unit that focused on older learners leaned on the importance of understanding why it is that older students are learning the language and using it to apply to lessons.
