This unit covers the complex system of tenses in the English language. Noting that although we will only cover 12 in this unit, there are in some cases many more for study, but some languages may only have a couple. English tense is broken in two three different times and four different aspects. The times are past, present, and future. The aspects are simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. Here each subsection briefly covers what the sentence structure would look for each type and aspect combination, as well as giving the various forms of each outcome. Each could be positive, negative, or question formed. Typical mistakes are covered, along with the uses in the English language for each type and aspect. Uses for students and practice in activation are also provided for further understanding.
