There was a wide array of topics I unit 18. The first one was the use of modal auxiliary verbs with an explanation about the different ideas ether can express and an vast list of all of them with examples of each of their uses. I learned that the use of modal verbs can completely change the meaning and emphasis of a sentence. The unit also dealt with how common it is to use the passive voice in every day English language and provided a guide to know how to transform active sentences into passive ones depending on the tense that is being used. I found this chart to be very helpful. The last two topi d were relative clauses (independent, dependent and relative) and phrases verbs. This last topic being the most interesting g to me.
