This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I feel that the classroom management lesson was more or less naturally logical to me. I did learn some helpful techniques. Horseshoe seating sounds like a great option for classes that are the appropriate size. It was helpful to learn that it may make the class feel more comfortable if there are times the teacher is sitting, while they do individual, pair, or group work. It also sounds very simple, but would not have been immediately apparent to me that using the student's name at the end of a question would keep everyone engaged throughout a series of questions to the class. These are just a few of the lessons I learned in this unit. It seems there would be a great advantage to me as a student to observe an ESL class at this point.
