In this unit I have learned about four past tenses: Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous, how they are formed and used and what are the typical mistakes/ errors that students make while learning and using these tenses. I have learned a couple of ideas how to teach students each of the tenses , for example a memory card game to teach the irregular formes of verbs or a Detective game to practice the Past Continuous tense asking questions like: What were you doing at 7 o'clock ? A good way to practice the Past Perfect tense would be giving students the final situation , asking them for reasons why it had happened.
