This unit has taught me the use of conditional and reported speech and the changes that are made when a Direct Speech is converted to a Reported Speech.The unit discusses the two clauses in a sentence 'IF' and 'WHEN'and the main clause.These refer to the Present,Past and Future possibilities.We learn the form and usage of the five conditional clauses.The teaching ideas are very useful in doing a Patchwork or Boomerang lesson.The teacher will have to be prepared for difficulties that some students might face in the grammatical changes when converting Direct Speech into Reported or Indirect speech.It is up to the teacher to make the work interesting and motivating .
