This unit introduced three large groups of ESL learners (beginners, young learners, and business English/ESP learners) while also discussing some of the issues and strategies particular to each. The final section on business English/ESP learners was especially informative: between describing the broader logistical issues of class composition and providing guidance on how to carry out a needs analysis, I feel this unit provided a comprehensive theoretical framework for planning a business English class. I think that the section on young learners could have benefitted from more of this kind of detail--specifically, actually providing examples of how to keep class activities short, fun, varied, and engaging would have made the mantra of \"keep class fun\" even more effective.
