This unit taught about the different areas that a teacher needs to think about when they are setting about planning a lesson to teach language. In it we learned about the different areas of language that are deemed important and some of the different methods that people use those areas of language. We also learned about some ways of teaching that would allow for the students to best be involved in a language class. These areas were talked about by how a teacher would choose the material to cover and the different tasks that would be used to teach the material to students while holding their attention. From this lesson I have learned about the difference of receptive and productive skills, the two areas that you can break the four points of language down to. By thinking of these two areas, I will be able to plan lessons that activate the students using these areas of language to better their comprehension and learning.
