this Unit focuses on teaching a new language and provides various strategies and suggestions on the topic. Every effective teacher should introduce the students to the new language in a balanced way, keeping in mind that each learner needs to be exposed to the new language, to understand its meaning and how it's constructed, to be able to practise and produce it. For these reasons the ESA structure can be easily applied to the introductin of a new language (if the lesson is focused on vocabulary or grammar it uses a straight arrow esa approach, whereas if it is focused on functions it uses a boomerang or patchwork esa structure). Furthermore each paragraph deepens an aspect of teaching a new langauge, such as: teaching vocabulary, introducing the grammatical structures and teaching language functions.
