The topic of Unit 20 was troubleshooting. Problem situations can occur at the first lesson, when you have different student levels in one class, the classes are too big, you have reluctant students, etc. Besides the most common problem solutions mentioned in this unit, I learned about the importance of a warmer (also called icebreaker or energizer). At the beginning of the first lesson with a new group of students it is very important for them and the teacher to build up a relationship and to get to know each other. Every lesson should start with a warmer because students and teachers can have a bad day or maybe private problems, where a warmer could be very effective to get all of the students in the right mood for learning.
