In this unit I learned about modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. Modal auxiliary verbs are words that add meaning before the verb (can, should, ought, etc.). Each modal verb has at least a few different meaning which could be confusing for students to learn, but the provided table will prove very useful for them. I also learned about passive voice, which is when the subject of the active verb becomes the subject of a passive verb. Finally, I learned about relative clauses which are groups of words containing a subject and a verb. It amazes me how many things that native speakers, like myself, learn without having to be formally educated on it.
